Exeats,Visitors & Vacations

EXEATS

Exeats are normally given out thrice a term, as specified on the school calendar.

Mid-Terms are not compulsory and students wishing to remain at the school are  welcome to do so but must notify the Housemistress. It is however necessary for fee-owing students to go home and bring their fees.

An exeat card will be  filled in by the student and signed by the Housemistress. The exeat card must be taken home by the student and returned to the Housemistress upon returning from home.

School uniform or outing dress must be worn while leaving and returning to school.

Students may be picked up and dropped off by their own Parents or Guardians. Alternative transport arrangements must be communicated by Parents or Guardians ahead of time.

Students who go out on exeat must return to the school by 4.00 p.m. and be present at dinner. Any need for alternative time arrangements must be communicated by Parents or Guardians ahead of time.

The Senior Housemistress may grant students special permission to go  out on special exeats if there are special circumstances or adequate reasons.

Parents or Guardians may seek permission for their wards to visit home or attend special functions. Permission may be approved by the School Administration and immediately communicated to the Senior Housemistress ahead of time.

VISITORS

Students may receive approved visitors (e.g. parents, siblings, relatives, friends of parents) in the school only on the second Sunday of every month from 12.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

The dormitories are out of bounds to visitors. Students should not sit in visitors’ cars  but use the areas indicated.

Students should, as a matter of courtesy, introduce their visitors to the Housemistress. The student on duty will have the Visitors’ Book which should be filled in by all the visitors on each visit.

Visitors will not be permitted at any other time unless they have exceptional circumstances and have first obtained approval from the school Administration.   Security guards are instructed not to permit any visitors outside the designated days and hours for visiting.

Visitors not transacting official school business are not permitted on the school premises except during visiting hours or unless specifically invited for a school event.

The school does not permit reckless driving and unruly behaviour on its grounds and it  reserves the right to refuse entry to visitors it considers undesirable.

Visitors are to produce their visiting cards before they are allowd in.

VACATIONS

All students are expected to go home during all vacations. During mid-terms, students owing school fees must go for them. Before going they must sign out.

All students are expected to participate in the thorough cleaning of their rooms and the boarding house environment before departing.

Students are expected to sign out and depart in school uniform or outing uniform.

Students must return from vacations by 5.00 p.m. and be present at dinner. Any need for alternative arrangements must be communicated by Parents or Guardians to the Senior Housemistress ahead of time.

Students must report to their Housemistress immediately on returning from a vacation to sign in.

For unavoidable reasons and on rare occasions, a student may be permitted by the Headmistress to remain on the compound during mid-terms. Any student granted such permission is to observe all school regulations and to respect the usual school time schedules.

During short vacations like Christmas and Easter, students may be allowed to leave certain belongings in their rooms at their own risk and at the discretion of the Senior Housemistresses.

During long vacations, between two academic years, students must vacate the dormitories with all their personal belongings on the first day of vacation.
